BESECURE participates to 2ο Hack Day Event with subject MOBILE SECURITY

BESECURE participated to second “Open Hack Day” conference in Cyprus that successfully organized the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) on the 28th of November, at the European University Cyprus. The focus area of the Hack Day 2012 was on Mobile Security and attracted more than 100 persons, professionals, students and friends of IT and telecommunications. Featuring 4 cutting edge presentations, with live demonstrations, this hack day event raised awareness on hot topics such as BYOD - Bring Your Own Device company policies and the associated risks, myths and challenges. Focus was given to the ability of today's MDM - Mobile Device Management technologies to sustain the security of the mobile devices and protect the company data from prying eyes. For the last 25 years, the CCS has been instrumental in promoting IT security by hosting and sponsoring conferences and events, serving the local industry, government, academia and public, as part of the Society’s aim to develop and improve the IT sector in Cyprus. During the presentation of BESECURE Professional Services Director, with subject “Security Threats and Countermeasures of BYOD initiative” discussed the security issues of using mobile devices to store corporate information and strategies to protect against mobile phishing attacks, malware, malicious apps, and more. During the presentation, was successfully demonstrated the compromise of access to social network user accounts of users that were connecting through their smartphones.
